ASE Certified Automotive Repairs

Understanding Our ASE Certifications

One of the most important aspects of determining if an auto repair shop is trustworthy is their mechanic certifications. The most well-known certifications in the industry come from the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Our clients are the most important aspect of our business, and we’re fully dedicated to providing them with thorough and complete auto and transmission repair services. Since the mid 2000’s the mechanics at Metro Transmission and Automotive have been certified in a number of ASE categories. We’d like to take the time to explain our ASE Certified Automotive repairs and why they are important to our success and our customer’s satisfaction.

As you can imagine, each area of expertise requires a vast amount of knowledge to pass the certification tests. On top of passing each exam, the mechanic must also meet ASE experience requirements. This aspect of the ASE certification process is essential to ensuring each certified mechanic is capable of actually performing the repairs. The level of experience required varies based on the test, and can be anywhere from 1 to 3 years. In order for the experience to qualify for an ASE certification, it must be in the specific field of testing, and this experience can come from working in a repair shop or through formal training. It is this level of experience and dedication that makes becoming ASE Certified such an important aspect of building and maintaining a positive reputation in the automotive repair industry.

What ASE Certified Automotive Repairs Mean To You

When an auto repair technician is ASE certified, there is a level of trust and competence that comes with this title. ASE has been around since 1972 with 3 goals in mind; protect the consumer, protect the auto repair shop owner, and protect the individual mechanic. This ensures the repair shop owner and customers can trust the mechanic’s skill level and ability in the areas of automotive repair they are certified in. An ASE certification is valid for 5 years from the date of the passed test, and the mechanic is required to pass a new test in order to maintain certification. If you have any questions on our ASE Certified Technicians, give us a call Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 5:30PM and we’ll gladly answer any of your questions.
