Metro Transmission and Automotive is a family-owned and operated business in San Marcos, Ca.. Originally from Minnesota, the family came to California, leaving behind a successful transmission repair business for sunny California. Initially opened in October 1983 by Bob Grant and Mike Johnson (Bob’s son-in-law), Metro Transmission started as a small transmission repair shop. Metro continued to grow over the next several years, and in 1986, Rick (Bob’s youngest son) came to work for Bob and Mike.

In 2005, after 50 years of being in the automotive industry, Bob retired, and Rick and Michelle proudly took over the partnership with Mike and his wife, Brenda. After years of working together with the same business ethics since 1983, in May 2019, Mike and Brenda also retired, passing on the successful legacy of Metro to Rick and Michelle, who look forward to providing many years of quality automotive service and customer satisfaction to North San Diego County.
